Comment/Description

This seminar addresses all prospective Bachelor/Master candidates who plan to write their final thesis in the Ethics and Critical Theories of AI research group. The seminar provides an in-depth discussion and training for writing a thesis in ethics, philosophy or critical theories. It covers technical aspects of writing a thesis, such as bibliographic research, the structure of an academic text and the difference between critical, evaluative and descriptive forms of writing, as well as content issues, such as how to find a good research question.

The seminar will give you hands-on practice in wiriting academic texts in the field of Ethics and Critical Theories of AI. The goal of the course is to aid you in the development of a viable research question and in the writing of a short mini-exposé for your final thesis. From June 2025, prior attendance of this seminar is compulsory for all candidates wishing to write their thesis in our group.

Prerequisites: You should have finished the "Introduction to the Ethics of AI" lecture and at least one more "Topics in the Ethics of AI" seminar offered in our research group.
