Kommentar/Beschreibung

Is there a German work culture and if so, how does it differ from other work cultures? We will take a critical look at these questions with the help of research on differences in national work cultures and many humorous anecdotes. The workshop introduces participants to central aspects of German work culture, e.g. the role and impact of efficiency, specialization and reliability. Furthermore, participants will:
• get the opportunity to reflect on their own work experiences in Germany and compare them to the work culture in the countries from which they come.
• identify ways in which they can enrich German work contexts by bringing in their own cultural backgrounds.
• identify strategies they can use to consciously experience and manage their ongoing cultural socialization.
The workshop is held in english
