Modulzuordnungen

Kommentar/Beschreibung

This course presents an introduction to specific topics in philosophy of science and relates them to examples and special cases from (the history of) Cognitive Science. No prior knowledge of Cognitive Science is required. In particular, we will examine four central topics:

1) Scientific Progress
2) Theories of Explanation
3) Epistemic Issues in Interdiciplinary Research
4) Values in Science

To receive credit, students will submit written exercises throughout the semester (4 ECTS ungraded) and/or submit a term paper of ca. 4500/6000 words in English or German (4 or 5 ECTS graded). All required readings will be made available on Stud.IP. Further details will be presented in the first session and, following this, on Stud.IP.
